HONOURABLE ADAM MUTAWAKILU GARLUS HONOURED BY THE JAKPA PALACE .
The Parliamentary candidate for the biggest opposition party, the NDC in the Damongo constituency of the Savannah region Honorable Adam Mutawakilu Popularly known as Garlus has been honoured during the just ended Yagbonwura Bi-Kunuto Jewu Soale I annual Damba festival held in Damongo, the Savannah regional capital and traditional capital for the Gonja Kingdom.
Credible voices inside the Jakpa Palace confirm that Honorable Adam Mutawakilu was honoured with the special citation for his tremendous selfless contribution and instrumentality towards positioning Damongo and the entire Gonjaland towards the realization of the Savannah region. Narrowing down to specifics, the following key achievements were mentioned as very pivotal contributions of Honorable Garlus warranting the special honour:
1. As DCE for Damongo District between 2012 and 2016, He ensured massive infrastructural and logistical improvement in the educational arena of the West Gonja district.
2. He also played very key role towards ensuring the perineal deplorable Sawla- Fufulso road, a nightmare road for commuters was constructed by the Mills/Mahama NDC government.
3. His intense lobbying ensured that the Sawla-Fufulso road project came with ancillary facilities for all communities along the stretch.
4. As an MP he also contributed massively towards reducing the alarming health infrastructural deficit in the Damongo constituency by overseeing upgrading of the West Gonja Hospital (Now Saint Anne Hospital), building and operationalization of several CHPS compounds and health centers dotted round the constituency.
5. As DCE and MP for Damongo constituency, Honorable Garlus also worked hard to alleviate the perineal water Crises in the Constituency through the drilling and mechanization of boreholes for communities.
6. Regard for the Jakpa Skin and other traditional authority in and outside Gonjaland.
These among other accolades were mentioned as the achievements that deserves the special citation of honor and recognition by the Jakpa Palace.
The Honorable Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress, who was present during the festival received the citation and expressed his gratitude to the Yagbonwura, Bi-Kunuto Jewu Soale and his council of Eminent Paramount Chiefs for the honour done him and mentioned emphatically that the special recognition is a catalyst that will spur him to continue to dedicate time, resources and commitment towards making them more proud.
Present during the event were notable figures in the NDC including Honorable Johnson Aseidu Nketiah ( NDC national Chairman), "Man Blessing" ( NDC Savannah regional Chairman), Honorable Yussif Ori (MP for Bole), Honorable Andrew Chiwitey ( MP for STK), Lawyer Salisu Bi-Awurbi ( NDC Savannah regional secretary) Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna (Former Agric Minister) and other key figures in the NDC.
